A couple of years ago, I started making wine glass charms, and somewhere along the line got the idea to personalize them. So many people like to use the charms, but it’s easy to forget which charm is yours. “Was mine the butterfly or the bird?” It’s much easier to remember your own name (and if not, please, set the wine glass down for awhile!).
I made a set of personalized charms for an office party and it worked great. Everyone took theirs home with them at the end of the evening. That led to one of the party guests asking me to make a set with the names of her girlfriends that routinely get together. Recently she asked me to make the men’s names as they gave her a hard time about the ladies having their own special charms but not the men. She now owns a complete set of 12 for the 6 couples that get together on occasion.
In addition, she had the great idea this year to give those friends wine charms for Christmas. I made personalized ones for the husband and wife, and added 4 generic ones to complete a set of 6 for each couple.
This works great for wedding parties too. Have the charms made for the bride, groom and the rest of the bridal party. Or just order ones that say “Bride” and “Groom” for the champagne toast.
If you don’t want to personalize them, think about different words you could use – like love, peace, joy, hope, Mom or Dad. Words or names no longer than 8 letters work best.
Wine charms also fit great on coffee cup handles, beer mugs, etc. provided that the handles are not too thick. The ones without charms dangling from them are especially well suited to mug handles to prevent the charm from getting in the way if they fall to the bottom side of the handle. Consider using them if you have all matching coffee cups or even on water goblets – wine is not the only beverage that needs identification.

I also have wine charms in generic styles with dangling charms or without charms in a variety of colors.
